- Open or forward suspicious looking emails ...... If they say you've won millions, they're probably fictitious BUT a lot of harmful software is spread via emails containing jokes or funny videos. ALSO be aware of file attachments with multiple extensions like "hello.doc .exe"
- Open, or click links within emails which appear to be from your bank asking you to log in. It's very easy for an unsrupulous person to create a web site which looks identical to a banks and then capture the information you enter! Phone them to clarify if you are worried about the content.
- Open emails from people you don’t know unless you are expecting them.
- Repy to spam, even if it’s to ‘unsubscribe’ as once you 'unsubscribe' you've effectively verified your email address to the spammer.
- Click on links in suspicious emails or spam. These could link to pages that may infect your computer.
- Post your email address, personal, or company information anywhere on the Internet. This makes it easy for people to find much information about you.
